Under 8 & 9’s Camogie Blitzes

The future looks bright for camogie with over 35 Round Tower camog’s lining out in Monastery Rd Sunday morning. Two camogie blitzes took place with two teams playing for the under 9’s against Kilmacud Crokes and another two teams for under 8’s taking on Lucan Sarsfields. Under 8 Camogie blitz
The u8 camog’s played their last blitz before the summer break on Sunday morning in Monastery Road. It was a rainy morning but that didn’t dampen the spirit of the Round Tower girls. Even though we were missing a few girls through holidays 17 girls turned out to play so we were still able to line out with two competitive teams. Lucan Sarsfields were our opposition and both our teams played three matches against them. Both our teams put on a great display, scoring goals and defending well. We put in some very strong performances and yet another player making her debut. Our last training session before the summer break is this Wednesday (22 June) and we will finish off with a party for the under 11, under 9 and under 8 camogie teams in Monastery Rd – should be a fun session for all.

The camogie section always welcomes new players, the underage section is really starting to thrive, thanks to all the hard work and commitment put in by mentors, players and parents who are always willing to help out. So if you know any girls who may be interested in playing or trying it out, call down or contact one of the mentors.
