Under 16’s claim league glory

Round Tower Under 16 Footballers rounded off a remarkable year by claiming league glory to go with their Championship success they enjoyed in May. They traveled to Rolestown and resoundingly saw off the challenge of Fingal Ravens, striking 12 goals in a 12-6 v 2-4 win. As the scoreline suggests, the performance was clinical, with midfield dominant and the forwards maximizing the opportunities that presented to them. The starting midfielders and forwards were Adam Eustace, Alex O’Neill, Sean Bermingham, Liam O’Connor, Caimin Byrne, Sean Casey and Niall Acton. And it was Andy Rigney who was the big beneficiary from the Towers movement and pace in attacking, netting six goals. More goals and points arrived for Sean Bermingham, Padraig McNamara, Sean Casey, Alex O’Neill, Liam O’Connor and Joe Murray. Defending for Towers with tenacity were Lee Moran, Alex Doyle, Tomas Greenhalgh, Matthew Kelly, Conor Mannion and Jack Quinlan. Ravens fought valiantly but missed a key player due to suspension and Adam Eustace was excellent controlling in the centre. A superb win to round off a fine season for the lads. Well done to all the players and the management team! Pictures courtesy Tommy Keogh.
