Under 15 Camógs triumphant v Naomh Mearnóg
Tower’s intentions were clear from the throw in, writes Paul Doran.  Emma O’ Malley back from her Dublin duties scored an excellent point from play, assisted by Abbí Ward. Two minutes later Lauren Duffy showed what good ground hurling is all about with a fantastic goal. Another excellent point from O’ Malley who pucked the sliothar over the bar. There was some fine field play from Fiona Walsh with her confidence sky high, Saoirse Tunney and Ceola Ní Fhearghaíl who all showed gritted determination.
Emma ‘ O Malley fired in another point, and then Saoirse Tunney scored a goal. The visitors scored their first point in the eighteenth minute and then another four points in ten minutes. With all the tenacity that is part and partial all this Tower’s camóige team, Hannah Clarke slotted a brilliant free from all thirty five yards out. A Brilliant save off the line from Ashling Seery helped Towers, but minutes later, Naomh Mearnog responded with a goal and going into the break it was Towers 2-4-1-5.
The Second half started off with a finely taken goal from Mia Finnegan, minutes later O’ Malley slotted another goal. Naomh Mearnog would not give up and they scored three fine points. Towers stuck to their game and with some good play from Angie Mac, Shannon Sheridan and Ní Dheoráin this was enough to spur Martha Kirk with a goal with great back up from Mia Finnegan. That Girl Finnegan scored another goal and the visitors replied with a point and another goal.
The Girls from Clondalkin can be very proud of this performance as Fans we enjoyed it.
