Under 11 Girl Footballers v Na Fianna

A short trip North on the M50 for our Girls to Mobi Road on a lovely springtime afternoon. Twenty three players made the trip for the green and white hoops of Towers. Katie Sayce played her 1st of many games for the Towers, going by the chants from the line you would think she always played the game. Muirinn Ward and Lauren Fitzpatrick both left the field after 10 minutes due to injury; wishing both Girls a speedy recovery.  This was the last set of challenge games before next Sundays home league opener to Fingallians.

In both games the Towers Girls showed great fighting spirit from the start. The girls didn’t give an inch and every ball was contested with some fine scores from taken from the start.  The Girls applied their team motto of ‘Standing Tall’ and challenging and contesting for every ball. We didn’t have the luxury of substitutions for these games with the Girls getting a solid 40 minutes of a run out.  Our fitness started to wane for a period of the second half, that said the team played well with some good link play.  As this is Go games no score was kept on the day but let’s just say that Towers went home happy.

Really encouraging performance Girls. Well done to all.
